Law of Seeds: the ruling party managed to approve the opinion to be discussed in the Chamber of Deputies

The ruling party was able to approve the opinion on a draft reform to Seed Law 20,247 (of 1973) that would be discussed in the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday of next week, November 21, in one of the last sessions of the year.

Several legislators, from different groups, acknowledged that there are some doubts among the proposed aspects, but Cambiemos had the votes to take this “step forward”, according to the promoters, to recognize the right of breeders and multipliers, strengthen the role of comptroller of the (National Institute of Seeds (Inase), and to unify in a single payment the purchase of seeds, between the main points that contains the approved text in a plenary of the commissions of Agriculture, of Budget and Property and of General Legislation.

In a debate that lasted for three hours, pro-government officials like Atilio Benedetti -the main driving force-, Luciano Laspina, Pablo Torello, Eduardo Amadeo and Alejandro Echegaray, and opponents such as Luis Basterra, Axel Kicillof, Felipe Solรก and Luis Contigiani participated actively.
